One thing you may, or maybe don’t, know is that on my own health and fitness journey I often times invite others to come along. Follow me! Up the mountain we shall climb!!
One of the main ways I do this is through private online accountability groups – one of those being called No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems (after the Kenny Chesney song – of course). This group is beach-themed and includes daily motivation, healthy Caribbean-inspired recipes, daily fun challenges and then the actual workout program that is utilized throughout the group. I run this for 21 days and on Sunday, April 10, 2016, my first go with the group came to an end.
It was amazing. I’ll be totally transparent with you – I have been doing online fitness coaching for over four years now, and sometimes these groups take off and sometime they fizzle out. This group took off like a rocket! We had about 8 of us in there tackling various workout programs together. The ladies motivated each other, held each other accountable, and shared goals with each other. We even had a special #throwbackthursday specials where we shared pictures of us as kids at the beach, or embarrassing stories from junior high (it’s not all fitness all the time!) A virtual cocktail hour was also part of the deal. Pair the new friendships, motivation, and accountability from the group and that really created a solid recipe for success.
Two of our members lost over 12 pounds in those three weeks. Another member dropped her running time and was able to crush one of her long runs of 21 miles in preparation for her upcoming marathon. We were lucky enough that she also shared that journey with us in the group and we were able to encourage her to keep going strong! Truly, this was an amazing group of amazing ladies. They all deserve a huge shout out for their efforts and successes. Way to go!
Each day points were tallied up according to participation in the group. Various tasks were assigned various point values and at the end of the 3 weeks, a prize pack would be given to the person with the most points. This time, Courtney was our winner with 137 points!! She will be getting a prize pack with all of my favorite fitness necessities included (as shown).
