If you have been doing your research and you are looking into purchasing Shakeology, you might have realized by now that there are two different formulas: Regular and Vegan. If you are new to the health and fitness world, you may also be asking yourself “What does Vegan mean?” and basically it means no animal-based foods.
Both the regular and the vegan options are delicious and anyone can drink either if they choose; however there are a few differences, which I will highlight below:
Whey Protein Isolate vs. Multiple Plant Based Proteins: This difference is the main difference between the two products and is important for those that are going dairy-free or who have stomach sensitivities to Whey protein. Whereas many other shakes will simply use Soy, Shakeology utilizes multiple plant-based proteins which are higher quality and less controversial than Soy protein.
Gluten Free (GF) Ingredients: I want to point out and make clear that Shakeology is NOT CERTIFIED GF! What does this mean? While our ingredients are GF, the manufacturing plant that is used to bag the product is not a certified GF plant, meaning there is always a possibility that cross-contamination may occur. In order for a product to be certified GF, the manufacturing plant must also be GF.
